future attraction by kalani1980 future attraction by kalani1980
Many many thanks to garrit for the Daily Deviation of this photo, as well as to all of you for comments and favs!!!

This was taken during a trip this past summer to China, during a wedding (never would have guessed that part). It was facinating seeing different marriage customs and very much an honor to be shooting the wedding. The Bride changed dresses 3 times during the reception, which was interesting to me. I think when I personally take the plunge there will be a little less ceremony... but then again, that's more the choice of the bride...

future attraction by =kalani1980 the composition & lightning really draws the viewer to focus on the little girl as the subject, rather than the bride... Good Job! ( Featured by garrit )

This is such a wonderful memory for both you and the bride and groom to have. You captured the ceremony so well. This is wonderful. Worthy of being in a book showing the photojournalism approach to wedding photography. Great job. I'd love to see more.

Absolutely beautiful. The little girls face mirrors the brides in so many ways. Both look honored and awed to be where they are.

Awww! It's so pretty! :D Great job! That's interesting about the dresses too. Hmm. Maybe it's to symbolize something like the past, present and future? Who knows, but that's cool. I really love the shot you took too. The little girl carrying the train is adorable. This is definitely becoming one of my favorites. ^_~

I love it :) I particularly like how the groom is mostly hidden. Draws a very nice, sentimental link between the little girl and the bride, as if she herself is idealising herself as a bride in her lifetime.

lovely! :D

Already you see the western influence. Red is the color of celebration in China. The white wedding dress is a western thing. The little girl looks like she is experiencing a real honor. I am sure she is. I love the expression on her face.

That's wonderful! I love the angle, and how you can see the girls smiling so big. :3 :+fav:

The dress changing during the ceremony is a little tradition some people do that is supposed to symbolise the bride making the change from her wedding and the big fanfare and ceremony to that of her normal life. They're supposed to gradually get more casual looking as the reception goes on. If not, I guess she just liked dresses? XD

ooohh how beautiful ! they're so happy :) this is just perfect, not a normal wedding portrait but .. really in the right gallery, emotive portraits .. somehow the fact that your shot doesn't include the groom, doesn't bother at all ! it's strange. even though you can't see the groom's face and the bride's face is also in the shadow, the photo keeps its feeling of happiness and love and togetherness and everything. yeah. this is great :)

The details are amazing! I love how this shot is focused on the one flower girl. The contrast is simply beautiful and I love how there is a beautiful highlight to the girls face. Really brings out the moment and makes her look even prouder of her role in the wedding.

Congrats on the DD as well :)
